Astoria Shoe Fix moves to Commercial Street site

Astoria Shoe Fix recently moved to a new location at 965 Commercial St.

Operations began out of the new space on August 3.

Scott Sage took ownership of Astoria Shoe Fix nearly three years ago from his uncle, who opened the business about 13 years ago at 463 West Marine Drive.

Sage said the new location is better for retail purposes.

“It’s a larger space, it will be more visible for the customers to locate and easier for walking traffic in the area,” he said.

The new space is 600 square feet, which, compared to the previous 285-square-foot shop, allows for an expansion of retail space. Sage said he plans to stock leather belts and bags as well as a full line of shoe care merchandise. The new location also features high ceilings and a more open atmosphere, he added.

Astoria Shoe Fix offers repairs on boots, shoes, bags, belts, luggage, as well as orthopedic corrections.

Astoria Shoe Fix is open from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. For more information, call (503) 325-9502.
