P&L co-owner Paul Radu said the move from the company’s former digs on the city’s east end will just about double their available space. Radu owns the business with business partner Dale Johnson.

“Our former facility was about 5,000 sq. ft.,” he said. “Now we have about 9,000.”

The new shop is on Gateway Street across the street from Englund Marine Supply. P&L Johnson was formerly located at 441 30th St., where the company had been doing business since 1994. The firm moved to its new location in December.

Radu said the move was inspired by a need for more space. He said there was no room to expand at their former location.

“We also wanted to be at the other end of town for better access to our customers,” he said.

The new space includes an expanded sheet metal shop.

“We have new equipment and can now do more sheet metal and other custom work,” Radu said.

P&L Johnson is now located at 429 Gateway. Their phone number remains the same as in their previous location.
