Home Interior Consignment opened in mid-December in an Astoria building formerly housing Bergerson Tile and Stone on Exchange Street.
Store manager Kelly Sause said the inspiration for the store was the poor economy and chance wanderings through out-of-area consignment stores.
“We found some really nice stuff at very reasonable prices, and thought the concept would work well here,” Sause said.

Sause said shoppers will find most types of furniture and accessories in the 3,500 sq. ft. space, including dressers, sofas, and dining room sets. The shop does not carry beds.
“We do have some very nice rugs from the Middle East,” Sause added.
Home Interior Consignment is located at 1796 Exchange St. Hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, or call for an appointment. For more information call (503) 325-4146.
