Obituaries: Adelbert Charles ‘Del’ Merrill

Adelbert Charles “Del” Merrill, 84, of Seaside, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, in Seaside.
He was born Aug. 14, 1924, in Cascade Locks, to James and Ardis (Gray) Merrill.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
His wife of 63 years, Anita (Gwinner) Merrill, survives, residing in Seaside.
Mr. Merrill was an insurance executive.
He was a member of Kiwanis and Seaside United Methodist Church.
Family members said he enjoyed fishing, traveling and being with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Del and Eileen Merrill of Tempe, Ariz., and Michael and Kathy Merrill and Jason Merrill, all of Seaside; two daughters and sons-in-law, Melinda and Jack Bradbury of Marysville, Wash., and Kimberly and Sasha Raichl of Astoria; and 18 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Hughes-Ransom Cremation & Mortuaries, 220 N. Holladay Drive in Seaside.
A memorial will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 15 at the Seaside Christian Church, 88786 Dellmoor Loop in Warrenton.
Interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
