Susan had a strong Christian faith, and loved to dance and sing, as well as playing her guitar and bongo drums. Her laugh was infectious, and she loved being with her family and doting on her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
You would always find her in nature biking, taking photographs, fishing and just enjoying time with God’s creation. She loved practicing her photography and then making videos with the pictures on her computer. She was very talented in many aspects, most of her talents and hobbies were self-taught.
Susan worked as a police officer at the Warrenton Police Department for about four years, then went on to work for the Oregon Youth Authority for about two years, and then with security at the Tongue Point Job Corps Center for 11 years before retiring. She loved working with the youth, and was well-regarded by many of the students and staff.
She is survived by her husband, Jerome Fesler Sr.; son, Jerome Lee (Fes) Fesler Jr.; daughters, Meri Wold, Patty Romero, Michella Hendricks and Belinda Thatcher; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as several aunts, cousins and nieces on her mother’s side of the family.
Susan was preceded in death by her son, Brandon Fesler; mother, Darlene; brother, Doug; uncles, Ron, Roy and Chuck; and her aunt, Linda.
Susan’s funeral will be held at her church, Westport Christian Center an Assembly of God Church, 91104 Hungry Hollow Loop in Westport, at 12:30 p.m. Sept. 21.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org.
