Letter: Make a difference

We all value trust and transparency in elected leaders. Astoria City Councilor Andy Davis is the only candidate for state representative that I trust to show up and work for those of us who live, work or go to school here. I know Andy; he is kind, reliable and interested in what people who live here have to say. He is who he says he is.
Andy is the candidate I trust to protect reproductive freedom in Oregon, and who will work to restore abortion care here on the North Coast. Andy’s opponent at first had a strong anti-abortion statement on his campaign website in 2022; when it was clear that was not a popular position, he toned down his strong opposition to abortion access and reproductive freedom.
Andy doesn’t play those kinds of games with voters. You will always know where he stands, and that he is working for us.
While big real estate industry political action committees are paying for TV ads for his opponent, Andy is actually working to help implement affordable housing, housing for seniors and workers and transitional shelters for the homeless. It is Andy who is working to make mental health care accessible here, especially for young people.
Andy is the candidate who has worked to diversify our economy and protect our drinking water, air and coastal and farm lands. As a state legislator, he will actually show up and work on bills that make a difference in our lives. Please vote for Andy.
