In 2026, the U.S. marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

America 250 is holding an America’s Field Trip contest, which invites students across the country in grades three to 12 to be part of the anniversary celebration by submitting writing, or original artwork, in response to the the question: “What does America mean to you?”

Winners will have the opportunity to earn a field trip experience at some of the nation’s historic and cultural landmarks. For information, go to america250.org, the official website of the U.S. Semiquincentennial Commission.
