Columbia Memorial Hospital has named Nicole Williams its new chief operating officer. She is the first to hold the newly created position.
“This move is extremely important for our organization, especially at this most challenging time in our industry,” Erik Thorsen, the hospital’s CEO, said. “With a COO and an outstanding leadership
team collaborating and working together to continue achieving our essential operational objectives, I can focus on CMH’s long-term future.”
Williams joined the hospital in April. She was previously CEO of Clatsop Care Health District for four years.
Williams joined the Clatsop County Clerk’s Office in 1999. She was named county clerk in 2005 and assistant county manager in 2008. She returned to the clerk position when it became vacant in 2012.
Williams has a master’s in public administration from American Public University and a bachelor’s in communications from Western Oregon University.
