Letter: ‘Let’s kill the market or desire for drugs’

When I watch the drug boats blown up, I first think the price of drugs just went up. So, do I side with the cartel? Absolutely not, we sent a strong message to them, and they will fear us.
But since the risk went up, so will the price, and continued crime, and score of associated deaths, ruined lives and criminal activity. As long as we have a strong market, the crime will continue. So, let’s kill the market or desire for drugs.
The question really is now, do we really have the understanding and will to do this? It will be interesting to see who will set aside politics and agree, as the American people, to join this movement.
I know many don’t care, and some like the crime, and want to destroy this country any way they can … evil and good are decided one decision at a time. I know many will laugh at this idea. How about you?
To my family: You have a grandfather who was captured in the battle of Long Island in our battle for independence. You have another grandfather who fought in the Civil War, and relatives who fought in World War II. All of you that I know are caring, honest and hard-working people, and have and will defend our Constitution.
What is good and evil?
