It’s also National Chocolate Parfait Day, according to National Today, that frozen perfection confection consisting of ice cream layered with chocolate syrup, whipped cream and liqueurs. You can feel the calories piling on just looking at it. 

It’s also Mother Goose Day (think “Little Miss Muffet” and her tuffet), founded by fairy-tale writer, Gloria. T. Delamar. For those with an aggressively green thumb, it’s International Sunflower Guerilla Gardening Day. 

And, it’s also Phone in Sick Day and National Rotate Your Beer Day (to coincide with Phone in Sick Day, no doubt). Happily there are many establishments in Astoria where you can rotate your beer. Cheers!
