Letter: Selling our treasures

Somewhere in last fall’s campaign, did the current president promise to end the existence of our national park system? I have to admit, after half-listening to a couple of his rants, I stopped listening to him in an effort to preserve sanity.

Now the layoffs? Selling off our national treasures, our miracles of nature, the sacred parts of our natural history? Did he promise to bulldoze the Cascades into industrial waste? Build tacky condos on Crater Lake? Reduce Mount Rainier to chemical dust?

Is this part of the retribution he shares with his supporters? Or just another deal with an oligarch?

The president said he’d be dictator for a day. His time is up.
