After spending the week of Spring Break on the road, Astoria baseball returned home for games against Corbett and Rainier high schools.

The Fishermen made sure to send their fans home happy as they overcame an early 3-0 deficit to defeat Corbett on Tuesday night, 7-6. Tyson Robinson capped off a three-run seventh inning with a single over the Cardinals pulled-in infield. This improved the Fishermen’s record to 2-3 on the season. Archer Hawkins got the win for Astoria as he recorded the last five outs of the game, striking out four and walking just one.

Sophomore Izaac Crawford led the Fishermen at the plate as he reached base all three times. Joey Gramlich had a two-run double that got Astoria on the board. He was joined in the RBI department by Sam Schacher, Ian McCormick, Jack Johnson and Robinson.

Thursday against Rainier was all about Dallas Norris.

The junior struck out 10 batters in 6.1 innings. He allowed just three hits and did his work on 78 pitches.

Offensively, the Fishermen finished the game with seven stolen bases. Johnson and Schacher had 2, while Hawkins, Gramlich and Jacob Klepp had one each.

After winning back-to-back games, the Fishermen now sit at 3-3. Astoria was scheduled to wrap up the week with a game against Estacada on Friday afternoon.
