Regarding the letter to the editor on Feb. 15 titled “Front page news?”: The letter derided The Astorian for the front page article about the Trump protest on Marine Drive, saying that the 125 people only represented 1% of the population of Astoria.

Please inform the gentleman from Niwot, Colorado (population 4,100) that in Astoria, when we refer to the 1%, we are not talking about the wealthy 1%; rather, we refer to the 1% as being the “au courant” (living in a $1.6 million dollar mansion). I wonder which category that would put our critic in.
