A fatal crash temporarily closed U.S. Highway 30 on Thursday night about halfway between Astoria and Clatskanie.

The Oregon Department of Transportation said the disruption at milepost 77.5., about 2.5 miles west of Bradley State Scenic Viewpoint, may last several hours.

Motorists were urged to take an alternate route or delay their trips.

One lane was opened to traffic late Thursday night and the highway was later fully reopened.
