Letter: Bummer

I’m concerned that our country seems to be sleep-running into World War III. Giving the green light to Ukraine to strike deep into Russia with U.S.-provided guidance for the Army Tactical Missile System is a major step to nuclear holocaust.

I would ask you to consider stopping this insanity. The weapons manufacturers and military industrial complex do not need to end the world over the pursuit of profits.

At the end of the American empire, the military industrial complex executives realized that they could not eat, or drink, or love their profits: although they tried until the very end.

When the nukes start flying: no more cushy job with free health care and a fat retirement for you. Because there will be no more America. Or most of the world, for that matter. So preventing a nuclear exchange is also in your interest.

And, a better legacy than: “These were the representatives who ignored reality until it was impossible to ignore the consequences of ignoring reality.”

I, as one of the parts of humanity, am asking: Let us live in relative peace and quit the headlong rush towards death. It’s kind of a bummer.

Ideas for solutions: Open up some dialogue with Russia; and less funds taken from the American people to kill other people on our behalf.

Related to: Less money for the war machine, would be more money for infrastructure and domestic projects, or less debt overall. Less pounding of our verbal war-mongering chests like some over-steroidal apes seeking annihilation.
