Astoria
July 30, 1967 — Oct. 5, 2024
Terrence (Terry) Noel Teague, 57, of Astoria, passed away on Oct. 5 in Casa Grande, Arizona. Terry was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle and friend, and was taken from us far too young.
Terry was born on July 30, 1967, in Astoria, to Ronald and Sheila Teague. He was the second child of five: Tim (Jamie) Teague, Debbie (Cary) Coggins, Tom (Michelle) Teague and Ronny (Corina) Teague.
He graduated from Astoria High School in 1986, then went to work welding for Joe Sopko in Seaside for a short time. His first job in construction was building roads with Ken Roberts, where his love of operating heavy equipment was born.
From bulldozers and backhoes, to graders and scrapers, Terry always took pride in his work, and particularly enjoyed excavation. He worked all over the Pacific Northwest, including in Alaska, and most recently built a driveway for his niece.
Terry’s sons, Jason and Josef, were born in 2000 and 2004. He would take them for rides on his machinery, and Jason now wants to follow in his dad’s steel-booted footsteps.
Terry enjoyed working with his hands — wood carving and whittling, model car building and painting, barbecuing and baking and general tinkering.
He was an avid hunter his entire life (deer, elk and clam digging) and went camping as much as he could. Monster trucks and football were other pastimes of Terry’s, attending rallies and cheering on the St. Louis Rams and Minnesota Vikings with his boys.
Terry lived with his fiancée, Laurie Green, in Casa Grande. He is preceded in death by his mother, Sheila.
Terry is survived by his fiancée, Laurie; sons, Jason and Josef; the mother of his sons, Brenda Kell; his father, Ron; siblings; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins; and many close friends, including his lifelong best friend, Dave Smith.
Terry was a kind, gentle, thoughtful person, and will be greatly missed.
A celebration of life will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lewis and Clark Bible Church, 35082 Seppa Lane, with a potluck to follow.
