Letter: Sad state

I would be happy to support the president-elect if his so-called policies were designed to help the common man, but they are not, if his choices for Cabinet were qualified, but they are not, if his motivations within 2.0 and Project 2025 weren’t vengeful and harmful, but they are, if he was compassionate, caring, moral, ethical and honest, but he is not, if he could actually behave presidential, but he can not.

I could then support 47.

He appears to care little about defending and further promoting democracy. He cares little about our NATO alliances. He cares little about women’s reproductive health care (let alone women in general). He cares little about the success and positive contribution of immigrants (look around). He has little respect for people of color. He has shown great disdain, or worse, for those who disagree or oppose his views. His foreign policy positions are unpatriotic. His cognitive measure is alarmingly low. His qualifications to be president are alarmingly absent.

For those of us paying attention, a number of shortcomings left unmentioned.

It is indeed a sad state that the president-elect will soon have charge over all of our affairs.
