Letter: Don’t understand

In reply to William Bell’s letter, “Quit whining” (Nov. 19): This, from the people who cry “cheat” when they lose! It’s amazing how winning a historically close election can change your perspective, isn’t it?

I hear our president-elect has already suggested the Senate give up it’s duty to examine and confirm his Cabinet nominations, violating his oath to support the Constitution before he’s even taken it. No true American patriot would support such an effort to undermine our constitutional system of checks and balances.

This election was won by a very slim margin of about 2%, and if you feel that the Republicans now have the right to “take America back” from the other half of its citizens, while looking the other way when the president tramples on the Constitution, then you really don’t understand what being an American is about. Don’t count on us sitting still for this.
