Letter: Make sure

In visiting our daughter in Berlin, Germany, years ago, my wife and I came across Rosenstrasse. There we saw a monument commemorating the victory of non-Jewish wives who had protested the nearby imprisonment by the Nazis of their Jewish husbands, who were then released.

These women and their voices still had political power. What if more people had spoken up early in Germany? What about now?

Former President Donald Trump says he wants to shut down newspapers, be a dictator for at least a day, still believes he won the last election and lies to everyone about everything, including the victims of the Southeast hurricanes. And, he is a convicted felon.

Some say his bluster is a bluff. Which means he is toying with our precious democracy, and making it weaker. How dare we let him! And if he means it all? All the more reason to make sure he never gets to the White House again.
