With regard to former President Donald Trump, it seems that no amount of immorality on his part will sway the MAGA cult from their worship of him. Some of them say, “We know he says hateful things, but his record from his time as president is what we like.”

I have to ask how is that possible? Trump added $7.8 trillion to the federal deficit so he could hand out a big tax cut to himself and the rich and big corporations. Not so much the other 95% of us. Trump withdrew the U.S. from the Paris accord, international cooperation on ways to combat climate change.

Things that can’t be seen by Trump aren’t real, just like COVID (one of his other blunders, that he still tries to hide). Climate change is an inconvenient truth that gets in his way of business as usual. We have about 50 years left to meet carbon dioxide reduction targets, or it’s all over.

Immigration: Trump treated the symptoms, not the cause of migration. He tried to extort political information from the government of Ukraine by withholding millions in defense dollars already allocated. You can bet he will be punishing the people of Ukraine, and praising Russia President Vladimir Putin, if he wins the election. He will try to further sabotage NATO.

Hang on to your ideals, just don’t vote for four more years of this self-absorbed, low-intelligence child at play.
