Letter: Respectful

I will be voting for someone who will represent their constituents in Salem. Someone that will respect the process and other representatives they are working with. That person will be Andy Davis.
As we vote for our elected representatives, for any position, we need to know that they will be present and represent us in Salem. State Rep. Cyrus Javadi missed numerous votes and sessions during the past two years. His explanation for missing votes was that his vote would not have mattered, anyway.
It does matter. It is important that constituents look back and see how their representatives have voted. If your representative is not voting, how do you know they actually represent you, and not some big corporation?
I am also tired of, and astonished by, politicians attacking, lying and taking statements out of context against their opponents. Can we please get past the grade-school theatrics and act like responsible, respectful adults?
I haven’t observed any evidence that Davis has been anything except respectful during his campaign. I cannot say the same about Javadi’s campaign. I will be voting for Davis and encourage you to vote, as well.
