- Ear: Goonie
King 5 News in Seattle recently did a short spot about the Goonies house and its owner, Behman Zakeri, and his wife, Liz, “Goonies for life.”
Behman was profoundly affected by the movie, “The Goonies,” which he saw as a child. “So that movie just instilled never give up family, friendship, fun, laughter, right?” he said. “All the stuff we grew up on.” Enough so that he paid $1.65 million for the Goonies house, “a dream come true,” where the steady stream of devoted fans are cheerfully greeted.
Dedication to the movie’s details is a priority, down to recreating the Rube Goldberg contraption on the porch (he already has an egg-laying robotic chicken). In addition, Behman is also tackling “a challenge for a reality TV show,” and hopes to convince former cast members to join the fun of restoring the house to its Goonies days.
“It’s gonna be a love letter to the movie,” he said. “The attic was a set. I believe this is the type of cultural landmark that needs to be preserved and shared for people all around the world to be able to view.” No doubt Goonies fans everywhere are rejoicing. (Screenshot: King 5 News)
