Fire season on the North Coast officially ended at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday.

Logging operations will no longer be subject to fire protection laws in forestlands in the Northwest Oregon Area, which include the Astoria, Tillamook and Forest Grove districts of the Oregon Department of Forestry.

The Clatsop County Fire Defense Board has lifted the countywide burn ban, though burning logging slash still requires a burning permit.
