SEASIDE — The city said an electrical fire in an underground conduit led to partially-treated sewage flowing into the Necanicum River early Sunday.

The city estimated the discharge from the wastewater treatment system at 114,500 gallons. The city presumed the discharge, which occurred from about 3 to 8:30 a.m, exceeded the regulatory limit for E. coli.
