Ronald (Ron) Lee Fox, 78, of Salem, passed away on March 30, peacefully in his sleep.
Ron was born in Astoria on May 2, 1945, to Dale Lee Fox and Beatrice Lorraine Schrimsher.
In 1964, Ron met Katie Louise Pryor in Astoria. Ron and Katie went on to have three children, Todd, Angie and Correy.
Ron was an avid fisherman and landed a long-standing career at Englund Marine for 52 years. He retired in January 2023. He was well loved, liked and remembered at Englund Marine. He took pride in his customer service and was a stickler on doing the job “right.” The company was his second family.
During his life, Ron served in the U.S. National Guard for three years. He was president of the Masons and Shriners, he was a port commissioner in Coos Bay and was a loving husband, devoted father and the best papa a family could ever have. The Fox family was blessed by his warm smile, many hugs and infectious laugh.
Ron was preceded in death by his father, Dale Lee Fox; mother, Lorraine Schrimsher; and aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his wife, Katie Louise Fox; his sister, Bonnie Mason; his brother, Rick Fox; his son, Todd Fox, and daughter-in-law, Sally Fox; his daughter, Angie Geils, and son-in-law, Byron Geils; his son, Correy Fox, and daughter-in-law, Carissa Fox; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren, with two on the way.
The celebration of life will be held at Englund Marine, 95 Hamburg Ave., at 3 p.m. Saturday. All who knew and loved him are welcome to join in this celebration.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Serenity Hospice, an organization that specializes in the care, comfort and empathy for those who are passing, at 3501 Fairview Industrial Drive S.E., Suite 140, Salem, OR., 97302.
