SEAVIEW, Wash. — A savory new quick-service breakfast spot has opened in Seaview.
The Seaview Biscuit Company officially opened for business last week, holding a soft opening on March 8, next to the Seaview Cottages.
“I’ve always been fascinated by biscuit restaurants,” said owner Richard Wood Voncannon, who was flanked by five staff, including co-owner Doug Voncannon and head chef Armando Tovar for the ribbon-cutting ceremony last week.
“And with the price of all the food that everyone is seeing all around … I always see everyone being pinched with overpriced food, so I wanted to offer a full-service coffee shop with casual, quick-service breakfast for people on the go for a good price. Everything is under $12.”
The restaurant will feature a menu centered on their signature homemade biscuits, including made-to-order breakfast and brunch sandwiches, biscuits and gravy and a full-service coffee bar.
The restaurant is open daily from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., and is closed on Wednesdays.
“They can have their breakfast within seven to 12 minutes, for here or to go,” Wood Voncannon said, adding that they intend to cater to the busy local clientele, from fishermen to nearby hotel guests.
The space, formerly El Farito restaurant, underwent a refurbishment inside and out, including the addition of a more accessible walkway, while retaining head chef Tovar.
The new restaurant will complement the Seaview Cottages, the 16-unit Norwegian-themed motel Wood Voncannon and Voncannon renovated after becoming owners in March 2021.
“I’m excited for this to become an extra amenity to the Seaview Cottages. We always wanted — and needed — a breakfast place here,” Wood Voncannon said. “We just wanted to bring a little bit of color and style to Seaview, so that’s what we did.”
