Clatsop County has launched Escape the Vape, a youth vaping prevention video contest with cash prizes for both the youth and their schools. The categories for submissions are sixth to eighth grades and ninth through 12th grades.

The prizes are as follows: First place in each category, $500 each for the student and their school; second place in each category, $450 each for the student and their school; and third place in each category, $400 each for the student and their school. Two runner-ups in each category receive $50 each for the students only.

Thirty-second anti-vaping video submissions will be accepted now through 11:59 p.m. March 31 via the Escape the Vape website. The winners will be chosen by online public voting. For details, go to escapethevapeclatsop.com.
