Charles “Bubba” Kuhn, 67, sadly left us on Jan. 22 after a long illness.
Bubba was born in East Meadow, New York, on May 24, 1956. Growing up, his family lived in many places, from New York to Arkansas, Arizona and homesteading in Alaska.
After working tugboats and fishing vessels, he joined the U.S. Navy and continued his travels. Not long after leaving the Navy in 1978, he met his life partner, Theresa. They had two beautiful daughters, and their family was complete.
Throughout his life, Bubba had a passion for cooking, especially New York hand-spun pizza. He loved feeding people, and did so from New York to the West Coast.
Bubba and his family moved to Seaview, Washington, in 1990, and fell in love with the area, never moving away. He cooked in local restaurants until opening Bubba’s Pizza in Ilwaco, Long Beach and Seaview, Washington.
When he was no longer able to work, he created “Bubba Kuhn” pizza-making videos for YouTube. He wanted to share his recipes and techniques for all to use.
He loved his family, community and fishing. Enjoying music, learning new things and making people laugh were a daily necessity.
Bubba is survived by his wife, Theresa; daughters, Rachel and Elizabeth; grandchildren, Brandon, Logan and Danielle; sister, Charlene (husband, Richard); and many nieces, nephews and in-laws. He is greatly missed, and we were lucky to know him.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any assistance with final expenses: gofundme.com/f/bubba-kuhn.
Hughes-Ransom Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.
