A Warrenton woman was killed early Saturday in a head-on crash on U.S. Highway 26 in Tillamook County.

Police said Carole A. Klages, 77, was traveling eastbound in a Toyota Corolla at about 5 a.m. when a westbound Kia Optima, driven by Isaiah R. Edlin, 23, of Hillsboro, crossed the center line and struck the Toyota Corolla head-on.

A witness, who did not see the crash itself, reported seeing the Kia traveling at high speeds and making unsafe passes.

Both drivers were declared dead at the scene.

The investigation of the crash impacted traffic on the highway for about six hours.
