SEASIDE — A delegation from Chungju, South Korea, visited on Monday as part of a cultural exchange.
The visit included a joint Seaside and Chungju city council meeting at the Seaside Civic and Convention Center, as well as a musical and martial arts performance at Quatat Park from the Chungju Municipal Ureuk Gugak Orchestra and Chungju Municipal Taekkyeon Team.
Chungju, a centrally located city in South Korea, has a population of about 213,000 people.
“We’re all so pleased that you came to visit us, you took that initiative to come and see Seaside as well as other cities you visited. We trust Seaside’s the best,” Mayor Steve Wright said.
City councilors from Seaside and Chungju presented information on both of their cities and exchanged gifts following the meeting.
“I would like to express my deep gratitude to Mayor Steve Wright and the members of the council for inviting our administration and culture committee of the Chungju City Council to the beautiful city of Seaside, known for its stunning beaches and various tourist attractions,” said Chungju City Council vice president You Young Ki through a translator.
