Following interviews with eight interested applicants, the Clatsop Community College Board voted Tuesday to appoint new board members to fill two vacancies.

Ashley Flukinger, an attorney, will be sworn into Zone 3, Position 5 at the next board meeting in June.

Mitra Vazeen, a former teacher at the college and a member of the college’s budget committee, will be sworn into Zone 2, Position 2 in July after Nicole Williams’ term ends.

The appointments came following resignations from board members Rosemary Baker-Monaghan, Karen Burke and Sara Meyer after a separation agreement was reached with Chris Breitmeyer, the college president.

Board members Ed Johnson and Lloyd Mueller, who were elected this month, were appointed to their positions last week.
