The fate of a Clatsop County vacation rental ordinance and the future of the Warrenton Community Library will be determined in the May election.
There are also contested races for several school boards and other local districts, although most candidates are unopposed.
The filing deadline was Thursday. The election is May 16.

Two infrastructure projects in Cannon Beach have hit significant snags.
The city will likely have to find another location for a renovated City Hall and police station because the site on E. Gower Avenue is in the tsunami inundation zone. State law makes it difficult to build the police station portion of the project in a tsunami zone.
The city also learned that the redevelopment of a former elementary school will likely cost double the initial estimates.

Warrenton, the county’s fastest-growing city, is weighing options to upgrade a wastewater treatment plant that is nearing capacity.
A consultant has estimated the project could cost $38 million over 20 years.
“When there’s rain, that (plant) exceeds 100% capacity,” Mayor Henry Balensifer told The Astorian. “This has been a problem we’ve been aware of for several years.”
