In an important step in Clatsop Behavioral Healthcare’s evolution, the agency now offers a pharmacy at the rapid access center on Bond Street.
The pharmacy is a partnership with Genoa Healthcare.

“The thing that I’ve been experiencing since I’ve been here is that we keep identifying needs that aren’t getting met in the community,” Amy Baker, the agency’s director, said. “And those needs are big.”

It was 12 years in the making, but Warrenton has an updated emergency operations plan.
The plan is intended to help the city better respond to emergencies and natural disasters.
Flooding over the winter was a reminder to city leaders of the need for a detailed plan.
“It takes a long time in government to get anything done, but we’ve had a lot of staff turnover in areas where we would normally work on (emergency management),” Mayor Henry Balensifer said. “I’m just grateful that we’re finally doing that.”

Astoria has agreed to enter into a contract with Day Wireless Systems to support emergency communications.
The move could help improve the situation at the city’s 911 dispatch center, which has struggled with technical and staffing issues.
Interim City Manager Paul Benoit said the dispatch center had to wait longer for Day Wireless Systems to respond after a winter storm because the city did not have a contract with the provider.
“One problem with this approach is that regardless of the severity of a particular issue in the system, Day Wireless gives priority service to contracted agencies,” Benoit told the City Council.
