Letter: Noticing

Living in Knappa the entirety of my life has given me many things to be proud of, and watching our area, as well as our community develop has been an absolute pleasure.

I’m very grateful for the many lessons and relationships I will take away from this experience, although I do have some concerns that I think would benefit future generations before I continue from this chapter of my life.

As I got older and began things like driving and high school jobs, I started noticing little things to be more common than I had originally perceived. One of those things would be the road conditions throughout the Knappa, Astoria and Warrenton area.

Living in Knappa has forced me, as well as many of my peers, to travel up to 45 minutes away for work, and many days I notice huge potholes, as well as uneven or outdated roads.

I can’t say that I’ve done enough research to come up with a solution, but I do believe that it is a necessary and basic problem to fix for future students to have a better and safer experience.
