DUI suspect rams patrol cars, injuries officer

BOTHELL, Wash. (AP) A wild chase involving an alleged DUI driver in Bothell ended with four police cars damaged and one officer hurt.

KOMO-TV reports the incident started Tuesday night with a dispute in the Gallo de Oro restaurant. A man went outside and got into his car. He started driving around the parking lot erratically.

Customers flagged down an officer who then tried to stop the man. He left the parking lot and other officers joined the pursuit.

Several blocks away, the man threw his car in reverse and rammed a patrol car. The officer inside suffered a neck injury and was taken to the hospital. His injury is not life-threatening.

The chase continued with the man hitting three more patrol cars before he was arrested.

Bothell police said he faces DUI and first-degree assault charges.
