Charmaine Elizabeth Boyd, 91, a resident of the Forest Grove community, died Friday afternoon, Oct. 5, 2018, at her home in Forest Grove.
Charmaine was born March 1, 1927 in French Camp, California, the daughter of Elias Larson and Della Moncoan, and raised in French Camp, California.
Charmaine married Glen Kettle on June 17, 1952. They had four children together, Bobby Glenn, Denice Ann and a set of twin boys, Donny and Ronny, who passed at birth. Charmaine and Glenn divorced in 1961.
Charmaine received her nurse training at San Joaquin General Hospital. Her nursing career spanned from Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas to California. She was even working at Parkland Memorial Hospital the day John F. Kennedy was shot.
After moving to the Oregon Coast in 1970, Charmaine went to work at Bumble Bee Seafoods, New England Fish, and Point Adams Packing until her retirement.
Charmaine later married Walter E. Boyd on May 3, 1977. She and Walt enjoyed wonderful rides down the coast and the births of grandkids. They made a trip to the East Coast on the Greyhound Bus, stopping to visit family along the way.
Being retired, Charmaine loved walks on the Seaside beach and working in her yard. She loved watching their dog and duck play chase with each other.
After Walter passed, Charmaine moved to Fort Stevens to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law.
Charmaine loved her grandchildren, Tiffonie, Amber, Michael Jr., Brandon, Katrina and Allen; and her great-grandchildren, Michael James, Benjamen, Emily, Michael David, Conner, Xander, Abby, Glenn, Hannah and Sophie.
Charmaine was preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Lonnie and twins Donny and Ronny; a sister, Vadna; and a brother, Wilber.
She leaves behind many other loved ones on the East Coast.
The family suggests that remembrances may be contributions to the Clatsop County Animal Shelter, 1315 S.E. 19th St., Warrenton, OR., 97146, in her memory.
