Playing for Hilander Dental, the sponsor for the AAA Legion team of the Lower Columbia Baseball Club, Hageman was named the club’s Player of the Week for last week’s games.

A starting third baseman, Hageman highlighted his week by batting .471 (8-for-17), with nine RBIs, seven walks, six runs scored and three doubles.

For the summer, Hageman is Hilander’s second-leading hitter with a .406 average (slightly ahead of the .405 for Knappa graduate Kaleb Miller). He leads the team in on-base percentage (.529) and RBIs (28).

In a doubleheader Tuesday against the Vancouver Mavericks at Mountain View High School, Hilander bounced back from a 2-0 loss in Game 1 with a 7-3 victory in the nightcap.

Hageman scored three of Hilander’s seven runs in Game 2. He had two hits, drew a walk and was hit by a pitch. Combined, Hageman and Knappa’s Eli Takalo were 5-for-5 at the plate.

Takalo led Hilander with three of the team’s nine hits. Dale Takalo pitched three innings in relief and struck out three, and Seaside’s Payton Westerholm was the team’s defensive standout.

In the opener, Dale Takalo pitched two innings of relief, striking out four and allowing two hits.

Hilander Dental finished Game 2 with Takalo on the mound, Eli Takalo at first base, Westerholm at second, Hageman at third and Miller in right field.
