Can anybody tell me where, or when, socialism has ever worked for anybody except for the top of the food chain? Only the elite benefit from it. The rest of us live in tyranny; we are just subjects to do what we are told.

So why is it that we see so many socialists running for office? John Orr, Tiffiny Mitchell and Brian Halvorsen are just a few. I listened to Halvorsen say that inmates in our prisons are indentured servants. Really? Should we give them state-paid maids to keep their cells clean? Does he have any idea how much it costs to house an inmate? Has he ever even visited a prison?

Our founding fathers gave us documents that would keep us free. As Benjamin Franklin said, when he was asked by a lady, “Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?” He responded, “A republic, if you can keep it.”

The socialists do everything they can to take every dime from us. They chase away businesses. Thank God for President Trump — he’s helping to bring some of the businesses back that left under the pressure of more taxes and regulations.

Kate Brown has added $13 billion in new taxes that we don’t need to operate our state. The last Republican governor, Vic Atiyeh, brought businesses back to our state that liberals chased away after Barbara Roberts took the helm. Help me make Clatsop County great again.
