Tina Ann Edwards of Reno, Nevada, formerly of Seaside, Oregon, passed from this life June 16, 2017, in Reno, Nevada, during open heart surgery.
She was born March 13, 1959, in Dayton, Ohio, to Linda and William Smith. She attended Newport High School and Chemeketa Community College, and was working on a degree in health care management, which was ended by a battle with cancer.
She had a green thumb, was a computer geek, loved knitting and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her life was devoted to working with the developmentally disabled and seniors. Her last position was as director of the Astor House assisted living facility in Astoria, Oregon.
Survivors include her mother, Linda C. Kolman (Jerry) of Beaverton, Oregon; her father, William L. Smith (Debbie) of Sparks, Nevada; her husband, Ron Edwards of Reno, Nevada; two half-sisters, Nikki Cichon and Jaclyn Smith of Reno, Nevada; four children, Jeffrey Durham of Vancouver, Washington, Erik Neuschwander (Sandra) of Oregon City, Oregon, Cory Neuschwander (Terralee) of Astoria, Oregon, and Alexis Neuschwander (Anthony) of Seattle, Washington; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her twin brothers, Wayne and William Smith, and a sister, Kim A. Smith.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Cedar Mill Bible Church, 12208 N.W. Cornell Road, Portland, OR 97229. A reception immediately follows.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, or a charity of one’s choice.
