Coast Guard will hold memorial for serviceman

The U.S. Coast Guard will hold a memorial at 11 a.m. Tuesday for Lt. Devin Hepner, who died last week while training in Virginia.
The memorial at Sector Columbia River is open to the public.
Hepner, of Logan, Utah, was found unresponsive Jan. 16 in his barracks at Training Center Yorktown, Virginia, and died later that day at a nearby hospital. Based in Astoria, Hepner served with Sector Columbia River’s Marine Safety Unit Portland, which investigates spills, accidents and other suspicious activity. He was in Virginia for investigating officer training.
The memorial will take place in the hangar at Air Station Astoria, located at 2185 S.E. 12th Place in Warrenton. To attend, reserve a spot by 4 p.m. Friday at http://tinyurl.com/jjv6rju. Military personnel attending the funeral are required to wear service dress blues with combination cover or service-equivalent uniform. Civilian attendees are asked to dress business casual.
