Chad Lee

Pinehurst, Idaho

March 5, 1981 — Aug. 24, 2016

On Aug. 24, 2016, Chad passed away at his home in Pinehurst, Idaho, from an aneurysm. He was 35 years young.

Chad Lee was born in Portland on March 5, 1981. He was the first of three children born to Randall and JoAnne Lee. When Chad was 1 month old the family moved to Seaside, where he grew up until moving to Idaho in 2013. Since Chad was a little guy you hardly ever saw him without that signature smile everyone was fond of.

Chad attended school in Seaside, and graduated in 1999. He did odd jobs while in school, such as working with Steve Poe bundling wood, and then he secured a job at Safeway, where he worked for 17 years. Tyler, one of his co-workers said Chad was always teasing the people he worked with by untying their aprons and then giving a big laugh.

It seems Chad knew everyone in Clatsop County. He wasn’t shy about talking to people he didn’t know and befriending them. He loved sharing his hope for the promised earthly paradise with people.

Chad’s favorite thing to do was to “go fishing.” He also loved watching people work on heavy equipment. He would stand outside all day long, rain or shine, eyes fixed intently on their every move. He eventually got his own little tractor and spent a lot of time using it at home.

Chad was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lester and Rose Lee, and also his nephew, Ethan Kilburn.

Chad is survived by his parents, Randall and Deborah Lee and Ed and JoAnne Peterson; brother Jared Lee, sister Mindy Kilburn; stepbrothers Brian Moore, Tyler Moore, Benjamin Moore and Cameron Moore; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Chad’s memorial service will be Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, at 3 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, located at 2667 U.S. Highway 101 N in Seaside. All who knew and loved Chad are warmly welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served immediately following.

Thank you to all in the community who were part of Chad’s life.
