SEATTLE — Seattle police have arrested a man wanted in connection with the death of a man whose body was found outside a burning home in Elma.

KOMO-TV reported police arrested 37-year-old Jacob Eveland Tuesday after spotting a stolen pickup truck Eveland was thought to be driving. Police say Eveland first gave them a false name but later confirmed he was Eveland.

The Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office responded May 31 to a shots-fired call in Elma. Authorities say they found Eveland’s house engulfed in flames and a 47-year-old man’s body.

The man had been occupying the home with other acquaintances, authorities said. The victim reportedly was assaulted with an edged weapon and a firearm.

Eveland will be transferred and booked at Grays Harbor County Jail for investigation of murder and arson.
