Aug. 29, 1942 — March 24, 2016

Jean Young, 73, was born Aug. 29, 1942, in Lansing, Michigan, to Christian and Marjorie (Bercaw) Hamilton. After a courageous battle with cancer, Jean passed away on March 24, 2016.

As a young girl, she moved to Lake Oswego, Oregon, with her family and went on to live most of her adult life in Portland, Oregon.

Jean worked at the University of Portland and ESCO Corp. She enjoyed her retirement in Warrenton and Tonasket, Washington. She loved playing cards, reading, traveling and spending time with family and dear friends.

She is survived by Susie Pope, Deanna Young, Kim Young, Tami McDonald (Matt), and Jeff Young. She was a wonderful and dedicated grandmother to her 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband Errol; parents Marjorie (Bercaw) and Lyle Christian Hamilton; brother Samuel “Ray” Hamilton; and sister Janet Ambler.

In remembrance, please pray for a cure for cancer and all those affected by cancer.
