Mary Ann and Randy Hansen of Knappa and Ken and Patsy Rudat of Clatskanie announce the engagement of their daughter, Courtney Marie Rudat of Newberg, to Kevin John Berry of Astoria. Her grandmother is Jacquelyn Ostervold of Cathlamet, Washington. His parents are Alan and Diane Berry of Lewis and Clark; his grandparents are Willard and Dorothy Berry of Tillamook.

The bride-to-be graduated from Knappa High School in 2009. She studied at Oregon State University before transferring to the University of Portland, where she was a Providence Scholar at the School of Nursing, and received a bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2013. She is a registered nurse at Providence Newberg Medical Center.

The prospective groom is a 2006 graduate of Astoria High School. He attended College of the Siskiyous, where he earned an associate’s degree in administration of justice. He is employed by the Astoria Police Department as a police officer.

A summer wedding is planned at Champoeg State Park.
