Paul Wayne Hooton Jr. quietly passed away with his daughter and wife by his side at Tuality Hospital in Hillsboro on Dec. 18, 2015, where he was admitted after suffering a massive stroke two days prior. He was 63.
Paul moved to the Pacific Northwest in 1976, and lived in the Seaside area until he settled in Hammond a few years ago.

Paul loved spending time with his daughter, Amber, watching old movies and fishing. He also loved talking to people he had met through the years around the community. Paul worked as a truck driver for Big River and enjoyed the friendships he had made there.
Paul leaves behind his daughter, Amber Hooton, and wife, Darla Hooton. He is survived by three brothers, four sisters and many nieces and nephews and their children. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and one sister.
An informal memorial service and gathering has been planned for 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, at Hilltop Church of the Nazarene, 725 Niagara Ave., Astoria, OR 97103, annex room, with Pastor Ken Jagger officiating. Co-workers, friends and family are invited to share your memories, as well.
