CATHLAMET, Washington — The St. James Family Center, 1134 Columbia St., is holding its annual Holiday Gift Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Vendors are selling a wide variety of handmade items, including jewelry, wooden trivets, paintings chart art, crocheted items, new and used Northwest regional books and more. There is also a bake sale of Scandinavian and British goodies, and a Kids’ Christmas Store (no one older than age 12 allowed in), where volunteers will be on hand to help kids shop and wrap.

All proceeds go to the St. James Family Center.

The Catholic Daughters’ third Annual Music Fest and Silent Auction is being held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday in the St. Mary, Star of the Sea School auditorium, 1411 Grand Ave. The event features the Knappa Marimba Band and acoustic folk music. This event is open to the public.

Auction items include an antique record player and a washer. Two raffles are also being held, and there is free food. The proceeds from the music fest will be distributed among several local charitable organizations, including food banks. Cash and local checks only will be accepted.

On Sunday, an offering is being taken in support of the Catholic Campaign for Human Development at St. Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 1465 Grand Ave. A Thanksgiving Day Mass is being held at 10 a.m. Thursday, complete with choral music. All are welcome.

The Knights of Columbus Squires are taking orders for Christmas wreaths. Delivery is Dec. 5 and 6. Monies received from this activity aid the community, and especially young men. For information, call the church at 503-325-3671.

Grace Episcopal Church

Christ the King Sunday is being celebrated Sunday at both the 8 and 10 a.m. services at Grace Episcopal Church, 1545 Franklin Ave. This is the last day of the liturgical church year; the new liturgical year begins next week with Advent.

Following the 10 a.m. service, everyone is invited to gather in the Parish Hall for activities designed to encourage and enable all ages to participate in the season of Advent, making Advent wreaths, crafts and special treats.

This Sunday is also Hunger Awareness Sunday at Grace, with an ingathering of items for the Grace Food Pantry. Especially needed are dry cereal and cans of chili and refried beans.

The Fourth Sunday Community Dinner is being held at 4 p.m. Those wishing to help should come at 3 p.m. to set up or at 4:30 p.m. to clean up.

Bethany Free Lutheran Church, 451 34th St., is hosting Christian recording artist Steve Green on Sunday. He is singing two songs during the 11 a.m. worship service, and is performing a concert at 6 p.m. as part of Bethany’s celebration of its 125th anniversary as a congregation. The concert is free, but seating is limited.

Throughout his 29 years of ministry in Christian music, Green has been honored with four Grammy nominations, 13 No. 1 songs, and seven Dove awards, Christian music’s highest honor. With 33 recordings to his credit, including children’s projects and Spanish-language albums, Green has sold over three million albums worldwide.
