Mary Isabel Nordlander, the former Mary Johnston of Astoria, Ore., died on Aug. 6, 2015, in her 82nd year.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Nordlander. She is also survived by her brother, George Johnston and Marjorie of Listowel, Ontario, Canada; and nieces and nephews, Bruce Johnston and Swantje Gerkins of Crivitz, Germany; Jim Johnston and Kate Albert of Martensville, Saskatchewan; and Nancy Rothwell and Allan, Doug Johnston and Laura, Dave Johnston and Christine, Elizabeth Johnston, Kenneth Johnston and Georgina Johnston, all of Listowel; and 16 great-nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by her stepchildren, Steve Nordlander and Kate of Cypress, Texas; Nancy Nordlander of Tillamook, Ore.; and Roger Nordlander and Joy of Port Orchard, Wash.; eight step-grandchildren and 17 step-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, Maurice and Isabel Johnston; a brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Marcie Johnston; a sister-in-law, Delores Haggland; and one great-nephew.

Visitation and a funeral were held on Aug. 14 at Knox Presbyterian Church, Listowel, with internment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.

The arrangements were entrusted to the Listowel Community Family Funeral Home, Listowel, Ontario.

Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Knox Presbyterian Church, Listowel, would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy, and can be arranged through the funeral home.
