The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife has announced that hatchery adult summer chinook and steelhead may be retained on the lower main stem of the Columbia River from the Astoria Bridge upstream to the Bonneville Dam from June 16 to July 6.
The salmon and steelhead daily limit is six fish. Up to two may be adult salmon or hatchery steelhead, or one of each. All salmon other than hatchery chinook and sockeye must be released. Staff will monitor the fishery and potentially modify the July portion, which may include extending the season or allowing retention of any adult chinook.
Fishing regulations are subject to change. Call the WDFW Fishing Hotline for the latest rule information at 360-902-2500 (press 2), or go to http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/regulations
