Valerie Cobb

Portland

April 29, 1932 — Nov. 25, 2014

Valerie Cobb was born in Los Angeles, Calif., to Harold and Helen (Totilas) Weinmann. She joined her older sister Shirley in the family. Val described an idyllic childhood growing up in beautiful Altadena.

She attended the University of Redlands for one year then transferred to the University of Oregon, where she majored in nutrition and pledged the Gamma Phi Beta sorority.

In 1952, she married Donald Cobb and they moved to Portland. They had four children.

In the late 1970s she began living at their beach house in Falcon Cove, and that would eventually become her permanent home. Valerie loved nature, especially birds, and cherished her home in Falcon Cove.

In Dec. 2005, she was involved in a motor vehicle accident which left her unable to return to the coast to live. She resided at Laurelhurst Village, and her family is grateful for their wonderful care and kindness to her.

Valerie is survived by her children, Jeff (Cathleen) Cobb, Jennifer Cobb, Tim (Sandy) Cobb and Ted (Shelley) Cobb; her grandchildren, Ashley and Zack Cobb, Chris, Kylie and Samuel Sacco, and Kaitlin, Kelsey and Connor Cobb; and her nieces, Judy Lower and Kathy Staufer.
