Lyster named head of digital media for newspaper group

Crindalyn Lyster has been named Director of Digital Services for EO Media Group, parent company of The Daily Astorian. The position manages digital operations for the family-owned company, including 18 websites, mobile communications and core digital content and products.
“Crindalyn has a clear view of how to grow digital business through customer engagement across all platforms,” said Chief Operating Officer for EO Media Group John S. Perry. “Our new, mobile-friendly websites are a vital step forward in our company’s development. Crindalyn demonstrated leadership and tenacity as the digital team overcame technological and organizational hurdles in the development phase.”

Lyster joined EO Media Group in 1996 as a graphic designer for The Daily Astorian. She later worked as features editor and Coast Weekend editor for the newspaper before joining digital operations for the parent company more than seven years ago. She also worked in marketing and public relations for the Columbia River Maritime Museum, the Oregon Department of Transportation and Washington Group International. Lyster started her journalism career as a sports reporter for the La Grande Observer in 1990, while leading her high school newspaper as the sports editor. In college she was the managing editor of the student newspaper.
Lyster has won several awards for her work throughout her career and has been a judge for the Independent Book Publishers Association since 1996. Lyster, an avid photographer, sports and outdoor enthusiast, lives with her son in Long Beach, Wash.
